Operation and Imaging in the TEM

This course covers practical aspects of TEM operation and diffraction imaging. Topics include

• Operation and alignment of the TEM

• Calibration of the TEM

• Electron Diffraction

• Crystal orientation and tilting using Kikuchi lines

• Bright field and dark field imaging.

• TEM EDS X-ray analysis.

 

This course runs 3 times per year (Fall, Winter, and Spring) with a maximum of 12 students per class.  Since the class starts quickly, you should go through the tutorial at http://www.matter.org.uk/TEM before the first class.
