Welcome to the OSU Welding and Joining Metallurgy Group website. The Group currently consists of one Research Scientist (Boian Alexandrov), one Visiting Faculty member (Dejian Liu, Huazhong University of Science and Technology), two Postdocs (Doris Villalobos and Ivan Mendoza from Mexico), 2 post-candidacy PhD students (Jeff Rodelas, Xin Yue), 9 graduate students (Desmond Bourgeois, Eric Fusner, David Hodgson, Adam Hope, Tim Luskin, Tiffany Ngan, Dan Saltzmann, Ben Sutton, and David Tung), 7 undergraduate students (Boyan Alexandrov, Erik Birkinbine, Mark Hahn, Peggy Kittila, Vern Kreuter, Kit James, and Nate McVicker), and a Laboratory Supervisor (Josh McCarty). During the past year, four students graduated from the group and are now gainfully employed: Eli Gould (BP America), Jim Rule (BP America), Jason Livingston (Bechtel PAD), and Nick Kullman (Caterpillar). We are currently working on a wide range of topics including friction stir welding and processing, weldability testing, phase transformation analysis, additive manufacturing and hybrid processing. I particularly encourage the group alumni to stay in touch so that we can keep our alumni website current.
