Scholarships and aid

MSE department scholarships

Through the generous provision of our alumni, over $85,000 per year is awarded to students in the MSE department. More than 20 departmental scholarship funds--in addition to other private, university, state and federal financial assistance--are available to aid our students.

For new first quarter freshmen who:

  • have been accepted to the College of Engineering and
  • declare MSE as their pre-major and
  • score 30 or above on the ACT Math section or
  • score 670 on the SAT Math section

one-year scholarships of up to $1,000 are guaranteed. No application form is needed.

For current students who

  • have declared MSE as their major or pre-major and
  • have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater at the end of the previous Winter Quarter

one-year scholarships ranging from $250 to $2,000 are guaranteed.

A College of Engineering application form is required. Please submit two copies to the college office by the due date (usually March 1).
