Associate Professor in Industrial, Systems, and Welding Engineering, courtesy appointment in MSE. Dr. Babu's research focuses on fundamental understanding of phase transformations during processing of advanced materials through computational modeling and characterization. Computational material modeling pertains to computational thermodynamics and kinetics modeling. Characterization relates to nanoscale characterization and in-situ time-resolved scattering using neutron and synchrotron beam lines. In addition, interdisciplinary research to develop and deploy integrated process modeling for automotive, aerospace, chemical, energy, medical, and microelectronics industries.

Henry J. Cialone

President and CEO of EWI, Dr. Cialone has a record of creating new business opportunities through technological innovation. Prior to joining EWI in 2005, he was an executive at Battelle Memorial Institute, where he helped develop and manage a considerable alternative energy portfolio, ultimately leading the commercial energy business and serving on the governing board of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Cialone was instrumental in the creation of the FutureGen Industrial Alliance for a near-zero-emissions coal-fired power plant, the Battelle Energy Advisory Council, and a joint venture with Energetix Group leading to the formation of Energetix Genlec, a subsidiary of Energetix Group plc.

He is a member of the Miami University Research Advisory Council; a Trustee of the Midwest Research Institute in Kansas City; member of the Ohio Fuel Cell Coalition; Non-Executive Director of the NanoSteel Company; and Non-Executive Director of the Energetix Group plc. Cialone received his BS degree in materials engineering from Brown University, and his MS and PhD degrees in materials science, also from Brown, where he specialized in hydrogen enhanced fracture.
